I have to acknowledge the receipt of Lt Governor Caines despatch No 92 of the 22nd July last reporting that he had on the recommendation of the Committee for superintending Chinese Education appointed a young Chinese named "Ho Ahoy" to be Teacher of English language in the Chinese School of Victoria, on a salary of $157 per month to be increased eventually to $207 if he be found a fitting person for this position, and I trust the appointment will meet with the sanction of Your Lordship.
